Process Execution, Timestamp on yielded product lots

In 11i there was a date/timestamp on product lots when yielded and now in R12 the timestamp does not exist.  This creates issues with the reservation and use of lots in subsequent FG batches and customer orders.  See steps below.  Has anyone encountered this and found a practical, workable solution? 

1) Create Batch
2) Create 50 Product Pending Lots
3) Release Batch
4) Transact WIP Completion Transactions for all 50 Product Pending Lots
5) Verify Expiration it shows DATE & 00:00:00 Time.

Case 2
1) Create an Inventory Item X Lot Controlled with a SHELF LIFE of One day (24 Hours)
2) Create a new batch with Product Item X
3) Release a Batch
