Need to be able to create batches that consume the ingredient but create no product

I am needing to be able to create batches that consume and ingredient but create no product in Process Manufacturing.  I have not been able to do this, it always requires me to havre 1 qty of the product.  I'm also having issues when creating the batch where it makes the product = the ingredient.
