Product Configurator - Open UI Changes

Hi Experts,

Recently i have seen the Open UI page of Product Configurator. It seems look and feel of configurator is changed. I wanted to know the Technical changes of  Open UI configurator changes.

1)We have customized code in java script files. what is the effect on open ui product configurator with our existing custom java script code?

2) Can we creat new types of Advanced controls with Open UI in product configurator?

3)what is the best practices we have to fallow , for product configurator changes with the help of Open UI?
