Localization Brazil : Is it possible to process notas fiscais with more than 6 positions for Nota Fi

Paper Nota fiscal (type1)  format is 6 positions for Nota Fiscal Number (BNNF) and 2 positions for Series (BSER). 
Starting in 2009,  few companies were required to generate their notas fiscais in the Electronic Nota Fiscal /NFe ( nota fiscal type 55) format that is 9 positions for the nota fiscal number and 3 positions for the series and process them through the Electronic Nota Fiscal process (xml file sent to fiscal authority).
JD Edwards World software update A918922274 / Bug 12528840 BR-NFE SALES-PHASE I
just for the most current version/releases at that time (A9.1/A9.2).
JD Edwards Word A9.3 already includes this software update.
