Posted item and amount missing after asset creation

I have a capital project that was sent to FA mass additions.  The lines were selected and posted to one asset, but upon reviewing the asset, the line in question (salaries and wages) is not included in the asset.  How can I find where this record went - where it is now?  Is there something about a record that can make it not become part of the asset when we select it like the others to be included.  In this case, we are 29,303.15 short (compared to what was capitalized in projects) in this asset due to the record being
