Does Oracle Need Windows Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) Service Running

Hi Folks

I have had a request to shutdown the MSDTC service on Wondows 2003

I have had ths service running since day one

Our environment consists of two windows 2003 servers with oracle 10g installed on both

we are using Veritas Cluster fail over services

I also have two web servers with persistent connections into the active database with SAN storage

My question is can I shutdown this service with no ramifiactions
