Gain/Loss is calculated wrongly on Retirement

Upon retirement, Gain/Loss is calculated wrongly.Seems system is behaving weird and using the below formula;
Gain/loss = Original cost - NBV.
NBV doesnt have considered the accumulated depreciation.

Can anybody suggest a solution for this.  We are on R12.1.3 version.
