Can I run Primavera from an external hard drive?

Due to security requirements, the databases I currently hold in Primavera need to be made secure, i.e. on a PC/laptop with no networking/internet access.  This is not practical so I was wondering if it's possible to install Primavera onto an external hard drive and run it from there?  I'm not a hardware person so this may be a dumb question!  Any feedback or advice is most welcome.
