Formatting a text field to look like a date in Financial Report Studio

Hi Everyone,

Within Financial Reporting Studio, I am pointing to an ASO cube that has a text field that needs to be interpreted in the report output as a date.

For example fieldA stores a values 20090101 and when I select this field in the report I would like to be able to perform some type of formatting/formula that would display this field as 01/01/2009.

Is this possible within the reporting studio tool?  If it is possible, any direction would be greatly appreciated.
