Fixed Asset - Processing Depreciation in the future

After a little guidance here.
EBS Financials version 12.1.3
I have been attempting to run depreciation and ran into the following error message within the program 'Depreciation Run' - APP-OFA-47670: Error: Unable to validate depreciation period
The scenario.
I created an Asset book where the current period was set to APR-12 (01-APR-2012). I created 4 assets against this book and successfully ran depreciation for periods; APR-12 through DEC-12. Posted the journals to the GL and successfully updated the balances.
However, the error has come about when I'm attempting to run depreciation for JAN-13.
Can the community confirm as to whether i am seeing this issue because i am running depreciation on the 8th January 2013 and it's not the end of the physical period yet? Does Oracle support the processing of depreciation ahead of time (in future) For example if i attempted to process depreciation for FEB-13 in January 2013, would this be possible?
