Current Period is in Future Period - Next Period is Open

Hi ,
I have few questions regarding GL OPEN/CLOSE Period.

We are using Feb-Jan calendar, when tried to open next 6 periods after December period close
the system has opened Feb instead of Jan period, so now the Jan Period shows as Future Enterable.

We need to open Jan Period now.

If any one share the logic for OPEN/PERIOD - how it finds next period to Open, how the year start date has
derived by the system. Will be helpful for our analysis.
