Salvage Value

Hi,

After adding an asset to an existing, before posting the asset, in Mass Additions form a field called salvage value is dispalyed & filling it is mandatory. After posting the asset, in the asset workbench > find the asset > Books, the salvage value given is not updated as given in the Mass Additions form (Zero is displayed). Why is this ? Is there a difference between these two values displayed in the Mass Additions form & in the Asset book?
