Hi, I am trying to utilize the "Oracle suggested Backups" in this GRID version.  So I've successfully schedule a backup to disk that was supposed to take place at 2AM.
It is now 9AM of the same day and the backup is still listed as scheduled.  There are no logs reports that depict if the backup executed.  However in the job summary under elapsed time, it states 8.5 hours?   Not sure what hat means.    Please advise if there is something that needs to be done to trigger the backup.

Also, if someone could recommend the following.  My experience has always been to create a separate rman catalog and schedule backups through cron.  All this separate from GRID.   Is it smarter to run backups through GRID?  So far and I guess it could just be a learning curve for me, I'm not being sold on running backups through GRID.  Please advise.

Howdy, Stranger!
