hot backups with mirror disks

i just llearned from oracle that if the database is not in FORCE LOGGING mode there is no true hot backup possible .. is it true ?

our database is not using FORCED LOGGING  and we dissolve the mirror set every night and make a backup from those mirror disks,   but what we noticed is that from time to time when we restore n recover those databases on other servers lots of blocks are reported as corrupted  and according to oracle its normal ,since we are doing a hot backup in NO FORCEDLOGGNIG mode.

what is the right way to make a hot  online backup ?
