Schedule for Recurring Journals

Hi,

Can anyone update me the reason for entering the Period, when creating a Schedule for genertaing Recurring Journals

If we select Periodically (Monthly) in the Recurring schedule, on what date and time will the Recurring Journal be created and how will the Period change at each occurence of schedule
