I need to know what are the advantage of OPM on discrete manufacturing

I need to know what are the functionlaity available in OPM and not available in dicrete manufacturing

Both are for manufacturing

OPM has formulator and receipee and batch

OPM is used for ingredient product

Discrete has BOM and Work Order

Discrete is used for semi finished goods

But what are the advantages OF OPM
