OM Transaction type Workflow's use

Dear Gurus,

Could some body help me in understanding the transaction type work flow uses.

Line flow generic :: What is the use of it and alos please let me know at what process what workflow needs to be use for progress the order.

Like this could you please help me to get the details about the all transaction workflow's uses in order management transaction type.

In fact i have verified diffrent sites as well diffrent notes but as of now i have not got any valid note's or answers on this transaction workflows.
