Asset Inventory Report - within FA - the time to run report seems extreme

We've been running the Asset Inventory Report while the PROD region is up and the DBA's have had to 'kill' the report as it has been taking up almost all the temp space available.  The issue is the time to run the report without parameters other than BOOK or a selection of one(same) from and two cost center.  The time is about 2.75 hours.  We're running 11i. The one with a cost center has only  2 pages while no center has over 6,000 pages.

Is anyone else having the similar sort of time frame in running this report.
