RELATION BETWEEN activeconsole & java process

In windows development client, I run jde console, log in and start java process, ...so what is the relationship between activeconsole and java?

Which is really the manner that java processes (launchJVM, java.exe..so on..) influence  on activeconsole?

can I kill them? or are fundamental process to work with JDE?
