oracle standby database restoration through softlink

Hi,

I need a help in rebuilding my standby database from the rman backup of its production database. both the database is in 9.2.0.8 version and the problem i m facing here is described below:

the mount point on which the rman backup is taken on production that mount point is not available on the standby database server, so after copying that backup on some other mount point on standby server we have only way to restore standby database through that backup is soft link, if any one can help me in providing the complete steps to restore from that backup through soft link i would be grateful to them.
