Active-Passive RAC

  Hi, We have a number of 11g 2/4 node RAC databases and are looking at ways to reduce the licensing costs. In addition to reducing the cores, for the new solution we are planning on ideally be:

1. Two-node RAC Primary (11.2.0.3) running Enterprise Edition + some other options
2. Two-node RAC DR using Data Guard. We are considering Active DG with the extra cost option

The costing of the above option is working out a bit more than the customer can bite. We are so considering the following options hoping to reduce the licensing costs

Option 1

1. Active-Active RAC Primary
2. Active-Passive DR
