how to improve performance

Oracle Process manufactering 11i

Hi,

I am having trouble with the standard Oracle form 'lot/sublot enquiry'. Basically, as a part of our modifications we are now creating alot of lot/sublot records. currently every time the LoV is selected for lot/sublot it has to look through the records. Unfortunately there is not a Oracle supported archive program and we cannot create a custom archive program on standard forms.

How can I reduce the time taken to pull back the records for lot/sublot on this form? I cannot purge them, I cannot normalise the lot/sublot table, and I cannot change the query performed by the form.
