11g Reports on Windows 7 on a 64 bit OS with Service Pack 1

I am trying to run develope 11g reports on a PC with Windows 7 and Service Pack 1 on a 64 bit OS.  I can open Reports developer and can even look at the page layout, but every time I click on the Data Model Icon, I get a message that Reports Builder has stopped working and it closes the program.  I have tried connecting to the data base before I even open an .rpt file and it still does it.

If anyone can offer some constructive advise, it will be greatly appreciated.  I have been developing reports in Windows XP for years, and hope that I do not have to go back to XP.
