SMTP Mails problem

we are using oracle 10g database  Release 10.2.0.4.0, Operating system is Windows 2003, we are using UTL_SMTP utility for sending mails through database. some times it is working and some times are not working. following error is dislaying

Error:ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 553 sorry, Authentication failed or timed out

Please help and provide the solution.
