The HEUG Technical Advisory Group recently published a document entitled "Mobile strategies for higher education enterprise apps."  The following is a quote from this document:

Specifically for the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions application, Oracle recently outlined their design approach at Alliance Down Under 2012. The Campus Solutions team intends to release a mobile app that is based on CS web services, able to be deployed to different mobile platforms, provide message payload flexibility via Entity Profiling, and is extensible in terms of branding and functionality. The applications will benefit from the on-device, native experience and require no additional middleware due to being built using ADF Mobile. The goal is to provide transactional functionality and notification capability for a number of student-related activities (Mawson, 2012). Look for
