oratab file sometimes goes missing from Solaris Zones

Hey Folks, wondering if anyone has run into this issue which is specific to Oracle on Solaris Zones.
The environment is: Sun T4-4 servers with dedicated database zones (all zones are Solaris 11).  ASM standalone Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.3 (not RAC).  Oracle database EE 11.2.0.3.

The problem is that sometimes when the global zone is rebooted, the /var/opt/oracle/oratab file disappears.  Upon startup of the database zone, the clusterware re-creates it when Oracle Restart kicks in and starts the databases.  But any entries not managed by Oracle Restart are obviously not restored.   And hence we need to restore the file from backup.
