Java Security patch for PCs with Siebel HI Client of Release 8.0.x?

 As per Software Requirements Supported Platforms for Siebel CRM 8.0.x only Java 1.5.x is supported.

How customer can get a recent java patch that fixes recently well known security issues?

There are fixes for java 6 (1.6.x):  update 38 and  for java 7 (1.7.x): as update 11. 

But what about java 5 (1.5.x) ,which seems is end of life now?

Would be use of java 6 supported for Siebel HI Client of version 8.0.x?
