Average Daily Balances

Can anyone tell me what table the Period average daily balances is stored in?  I expected it in the GL_Balances table but I can see average balances in the inquiry screen but have no data in the *_ADB fields on the GL_Balances table.  Does that table not populate until the period closes?  Any help as always will be much appreciated.
