Maintainable inventory items

 Hello all,

  I am working in the oil ans gas industry and am looking for suggestions on the best way to manage some of our inventory items that require maintenance and or inspections whilst in the store to ensure they are fit for purpose while in stock and in some cases maintained to ensure warranty provisions are satisfied.

 Some examples are;

Piping sections:  we stock consumable piping sections which require periodic inspections to ensure these items are not suffering corrosion or other problems.

Electrical devices:  Some electrical items require inspection and replacement of silica gel packs to ensure they are preserved in good condition and are maintained to satisfy warranty conditions.  If these periodic maintenance activities are not carried out we may have failed items in stock not covered by warranty.
