Learning Management - Professional Credit Delivered

We are in the process of implementing Oracle Learning Management 12.1.3 and as such the documentation is pretty scarce.  When setting up a new course there is a section titled: "Professional Credits"  and upon review of the installation manual there is merely one bullet that mentions the aforementioned.  Does anyone have any background as to how to effectively or correctly use "Professional Credit Delivered".  Is this merely a placeholder for a company that want to numerically score training credit for record keeping.  If I were to think about how Oracle uses learning credits, I would assume that a class may
