Why the user was unable to see the cost in the attached screen shot.

Dear Gurus,
In the attached screenshot , the user was unable to see the Unit cost in the sales order screen, 

The responsibility was a custom responsibility defined and assigned only to this guy, by name "AAB Sales Order Generic Hold release-S&S".

We compared the setup of this responsibility with the super user responsibility where we were able to see the unit cost.

Please let me know where i am missing the path to enable the user to see the cost instead of this asterisks.
