Deleting the "New Appt" button and Editing the "New Task" button

Hi Guys,

I have a customer who asked a qustion in regards of the Open Activities buttons. When you are in an account and scroll down to the related information section. There's a section called "Open Activities"  and this section has two buttons: New Appt and New Task. Is there any way on taking off the "New Appt" button and renaming the "New Task" button. Thanks for your help.
