R12 finance charge for Stagged Dunning w/o full license for Advanced collection

We are in the process of upgrading from 11i to R12. The dunning letter used to be with Receivables in 11i, it is now in Advanced Collections (AC). However, we don't want to purchase additional license for AC because we are small and only use dunning function in AC. We can setup dunning letter set to calculate the finance charge when generate dunning letters in 11i. This finance charge will not create any accounting entries if we have the 'accrue finance charge' in Receivable system option set to No. This means the finance charge is only on paper. We really
