Capped-CPU for Oracle database licensing in a solaris-zone
Hi all
I have a few questions about the Oracle database licensing for a solaris-zone.
1. We have two different possibility to limits the CPU ressources in a solaris-zone, "capped-cpu" and "dedicated-cpu", is that correct?
2. But we are only able to use the "capped-cpu" for the oracle database licensing, is that correct?
So, we have an SPARC T4-1 (with one 8core CPU) and one "Oracle-CPU-Licence", which are valid for 2cores!
3. Two cores are a quarter of eight cores, then i'm going to set the value "0.25" for the ncpus, is that correct?
zonecfg:myzone> add capped-cpu
zonecfg:myzone:capped-cpu> set ncpus=.25
