Dependent Flexfield Values

Hi,

At present we use independent flexfiled value set for Key fields segments for our Chart of Accounts. We maintain many cross validation rules for checking the quality of data which user enter in the system.

After creation of any new value in the independent value set, a key user need to maintain the cvr correctly so that an account can start accounting by using the new values.

To avoid this dependency as well to control the quality of the data, if we change the value set from independent to dependent will it create any problem in future?

Please advise.
