recycle bin object space no change after purging

Hello,

My Oracle 10g recycle bin is on and I droped a big lob table ,the space was reduced and I checked the recycle bin the table was there. After I purged the table in recycle bin, the space was not changed at all. What is the reason for that? I think after I droped the table, the space should not be changed but after I purged recycle bin,the space should be reduced.
