Grid infrstructure installation package missing

hello everyone

I am installing oracle grid infrastructure so that i can use asm on a machine with oracle linux 6.2.

I have followed the installation guide from oracle and have installed all the requirede packages wich end with i686 and x86_64

but when the installer runs and checks for the packages it starts to look for i386 packages wich are not installed and cannot install because it conflicts with the i686 packages installed

the conflicting packages are

gcc-c++-3.4.6

libaio-devel-0.3.105

libgcc-3.4.6

libstdc++

any help on how to resolve this problem will be appreciated.
