Task and access profile

Greetings all,

I have created a workflow that creates a task for a user.  The user cannot mark the task as completed.  My issue is that the user has a read-only access profile.  Are there specific record types or related information fields I can change that will give the user the ability to mark the task as completed?  I am trying to minimize the user’s record visibility but I need them to be able to complete the assigned task.
