Upgrade to R12 causes data mismatch

After upgrading 11.5.10.2. to R12.1.3 , the EAM wok request shows an asset number that is different from the actual asset number for which the WR was created.
For example, when viewed in the Maintenance Super user page,
WR number 12345 shows asset number A11111.

I queried the the wip_eam_work_requests table for WR number 12345 and the asset_number shows B11111 and the maintenance_object_id is 10011.

Bit csi_item_instances table shows asset_number A11111 for instance_id 10011.

has anyone seen this issue?
We applied eamsnupd.sql version120.0.12010000.2
