how many expansion trays does the 2540M2 support?

http://www.oracle.com/us/products/servers-storage/storage/disk-storage/2500-m2-ds-414980.pdf states up to 15 expansion trays but other sources (such as HOPE list) say up to 7.

If I bought a 2540M2, how many 2501M2 expansion trays could I connect to it?
