Cannot Highlight Text in Internet Explorer (Vers 8.0.6001.18702)

 I have created a BI Publisher report that simply shows a data table.  My users have the need to be able to copy text from the data table.  They have complained that they cannot highlight text at all inside this report, and I have confirmed this.  The issue only occurs within Internet Explorer(We are using  Version 8.0.6001.18702... Not sure if this problem occurs in other IE versions).  I am able to highlight text just fine using Mozilla Firefox.  The problem is my users are not authorized to use any other browser than IE. 
Has anyone run into this, or have any suggestions?
