Need a way to mark previously released pdf files indicating there is a newer release.

As per an AS9100 audit, we need a process for "preventing the unintended use of obsolete documents (old revision), and applies suitable identification to them if they are retained for any purpose."

One suggestion is to apply some sort of marking to the previously released pdf file indicating that it is not the latest released version and should not be used.

Does anyone know of a fast way to do this?
