Patch Application failed for UPK

Problem Description

We had been receiving the FRM-40105: Unable to resolve referece to item <item>. when trying to enable context sensitive upk help for our upcoming EBS release.  Through research in metalink, we found patch 10426519:R12.FND.B which we downloaded and attempted to apply.
The patch failed when the load was attempted.   Attached is the log file provided by our Systems personnel of the failed attempt.  
We then attemped to restore our system from backups and found that our application server backup had failed to run before the patch attempt.
Is there a way to either correct the issue and continue applying the patch or a way to remove the patching that started?
