Auto Scheduling In Order Managerment

Hi Team,
I want to know is Auto scheduling is dependent or part  ATP (Available to promise) setups or it is independent functionality. if Auto scheduling is not related to ATP then how Application calculates the scheduled date and do the scheduling?
