Upgrade from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3 is taking extremely long compared to test run, what are possible c
We have a customer that is upgrading their Oracle DB from 11.2.0.2 up to 11.2.0.3 on their Solaris 10 SunFire V880 Server is using internal RAID 5 disks.
The test upgrade took about 2 hours, now the official upgrade is projected to complete in 1.5 days !! The customer must have the Server online for production in the next 12 hours.
What suggestions or Documents can I provide the customer to check, or tune?
The customer states:
"The last command I ran was '@?/rdbms/admin/catupgrd'. It is very slow compared the same upgrade applied to our test system a few weeks ago. The speed of the upgrade will mean that it will probably run overnight and all day tomorrow. Users will not be able to use the system as it is the production (live) system that is being upgraded. customer did a previoustyest upgrade with a second instance and it took around 2 -3 hours, currently we are 7 hours in and only a quarter of the way in "
