SLM:API to populate the attributes for existing supplier records

Hi
We have lot of Supplier records and as part of R12 SLM implementation,we are adding new supplier profile attribute group with many attributes.

We wanted to insert the value to these attributes for old supplier records and looking for an standard API.we could see that  there is an  API  POS_SUPPLIER_UDA_BO_PHG and create_uda.sql(from implementation guide)-POS_VENDOR_PUB.pkg

Could you please confirm which is the right one  to be used or is there any other ?
