My company intends to transition to OEM12c for our database alerting needs.  We are tweaking and testing now.  There are three alerts for Dataguard that we intend to use for our Primary-Physical Standby Dataguard pairs:
1 - Transport Lag
2 - Apply Lag
3 - Dataguard Status

The Dataguard Status alert, as I understand it, simply scours the dataguard broker logs for the word "Error" and/or "Warning."  We have it configured to alert only when it finds "Error."  Yet we are finding this alert is overalerting, often needlessly and in transitory manner.  The most common alert is this one on a 10g database:

Howdy, Stranger!
