How to Handle Unicode .csv Files

With a recent patch (021.009.000.005 and later), the encoding on .csv files was changed from ANSI to Unicode to fix some issues with multi-byte characters in some languages. This has caused some customers to question how to handle the new encoding, as Excel does not automatically split Unicode .csv files out into columns.

There are several options to handle .csv files with Unicode encoding. Steps for each of these along with screenshots can be found in the document attached to this post. Please note that these instructions are provided as a courtesy to help you with this process and, since they deal with non-Oracle software, are not officially supported.
