8.1.1.9 patchset can not be applied to thick client

 Hi    I have applied 8.1.1.9 patchset on my tools(base version) but when i am applying these on web client (thick) it its showing "BACKUP FAILED  Patchset can not be applied on siebel home". I have done it many times on different system but now it is not working. I am unable to find proper reason for this problem .
