Importing sales orders with configured items

I am trying to find out if there is a way to import sales orders with configured items on them.  I know you can't use R47010 but F40211Z mentions configured item set up in the processing options.  But I don't know how to make it work.  I've looked through the Knowledgebase and can't find any real answers.  I also posted in the Distribution community but no good answers.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks
